Launceston is the ancient Capital of Cornwall and holder of several Royal Charters. The town provided the only crossing points of the River Tamar for many centuries as revealed by several impressive arch bridges, all of which date back to the 15th century or earlier. These were financed from 40 day indulgences granted by the Abbot of Tavistock Abbey.

Dear Elizabeth, following is the information I was interested in.
Letitia Cooper Withers was married to Stephen Otto Bolding after John Walton Clarke. She was the sister of Harry Edmund Withers, my great grandfather. Their parents were John and Matilda (Lyttleton) Withers.
Her brother was Henry (Harry) Edmund Withers, father of my paternal grandmother, Blanche Beatrice Withers. I have documented quite a bit of information about my branch of the Withers family tree and wondered if it was of interest to you.
Thanks for your reply, regards, Margot.

Thanks to IGI Submitter Ian A Kloester, 11 Macpherson Street, Dandenong, Victoria, Australia 3175 for details of this family
