Hi Elizabeth
Have been reading of your Trinnick family information site. I hope you will forgive me as I have some corrections for you.
The family of John and Ann Trinnick that came out on the HARPLY in 1853 are a different family to John and Sarah (Legassick) Trinnick and their ten children. The John and Ann Trinnick and his family that came on the HARPLY all went to Western Australia to live.
Three of John and Sarah (Legassick) Trinnick's children have the wrong names, you have (Sophia Mary) who is only Mary Trinnick and (Selina Sarah) is only Sarah Trinnick. The twin (William Henry) is only Henry.

Thankyou for your correction - it is most appreciated.
I had written - John Trinnick 45 came as Assisted Inward Passengers in Jul 1853 on the Harpley, with Ann 44, Mary J 14, William 12, Alice 9, Sophia 8, Anna A 6 (is 16 on shiplist), Selina 3 and John infant
Sorry I forgot to add that John and Sarah (Legassick} Trinnick's third child Ann was born in 1836 and died at the age of 8 in 1845. in Charlton Devon. They named their 7th child Ann born 1846 after the daughter they lost.
Henry was the elder twin, born on 13 December 1853 at 12.30am in Charlton, Devon. Died on the 28 August, 1888 at his son Henry's home in Bridge St. Fitzroy aged 34.

From Rootsweb - The maiden name of Ann LEGASSICK was WOOD and Sarah was a LEGASSICK
Sarah bapt 3 Nov 1811 d/o Peter and Ann LEGASON
Her older brother John LEGASSICK was baptised there on 11.8.1808 (the month is difficult to read).
Spelling of LEGASSICK is extremely variable,
Peter LEGASSICK was married on 9.4.1806 in Charleton, Devon to Ann WOOD - not a GOODYEAR (from the DFHS index - I have not checked the original)
John Trinnick c1808 - 1866 #1090 died at Fitzroy aged 56, and Sarah Legassick 1810 - 1894 #9537, of Devonshire came to Victoria.
Sarah Legassick born 1810/11 - 1894 #9537 died at Footscray daughter of Ann Legassick
George Trinnick, second son of John and Sarah (Legassick) Trinnick was born at Kingsbridge, Devon, England on April 5, 1838. George's birth record on file with the General Register Office of England reveals his father's occupation as a carpenter and that his mother could not write. To date no record of George's immigration to Australia has been located; however, from supporting evidence it can be assumed that they arrived after Dec 1853, and all the family's records have been located in Victoria.
The Parish Register for Kingsbridge ends 1797, only two Ebenezer Chapels to 1837. After Sep 1838 we have freebmd, the online Indexes from St Catherine's House, London, converted from the books on the shelves there, open for all researchers, and Kingsbridge is the name of the District in Devon.

Hallo Elizabeth
Just looking at your family site. Ann Trinnick married William Edward Powell. William came to Aust. with 2 frends Frederick Hale Morris and George Hughes in Jan 1859 on board the 'Great Britain' landing in Vic. I do not know anything more of William except he would have been 25 yrs. old when he arrived in Aust. and going by the UK 1851 census he was an apprentice watchmaker born Liverpool Lancashire England. If you can help me with any further information on this family I would be grateful - my link is the fact he came with Frederick Hale Morris.
You may like to check and add another 3 children to your list of their children- Louisa Josephine Powell b.1880 Carlton #7184, Norman Victor b.1882 #21506 and Hy Arthur Powell b.1884 Carlton #22905 you may have missed this 3 as they are under Trinick not Trinnick.
Thank you for any information you may be able to give me or any contact for this family
Bye Lyn

Hi Elizabeth
Found your note in your family history about if the Eliza Matilda Ward married to Henry Trinnick in 1876 is the same as the one who died in the Old Melbourne Hospital,
As Henry and Eliza were my Great Grandparents I can verify that she is one and the same.
