John Trenowth

From on Wed, 31 Dec 2003
Hi,
Unfortunatly our records of the Trenow(e)th's are slightly patchy due to the sheer number of Trenow(e)th's. However we believe that John Trenowth husband of Mary Ann Matthews was born in approximatly 1817 and died in 1904 in Tarnagulla. We believe that his father was Hugh Trenowth.
We have recently unearthed our copy of part of our family history entitled "A Pallot Story" by Edna and Alan Holt and its contents brings many interesting facts to light. We are continuing in our quest to unearth more about the Trenowth family but have currently come to a dead end.

A possible Mary is in 1838 at St Columb Book 9 Page 64

On your web page you are missing family members from the 1. Abraham Trevascus & Alice Maud Elizabeth Simms union. Frank Trevascus (who was the oldest of the siblings) and Henry Charles Stephen Trevascus who was the second sibling then came Arthur and Leslie. Robert and Nellie were step brother and sister respectively to the four older Trevascus brothers. I am not sure of the name of the step father, but I think it was Fagan. Regards, Mark Steven Trevascus

James Luke Trevenen

From on Wed, 16 Jun 2004
I am descended from James Luke through his oldest son, Charles Harold. Frederick Harold, my father was CH's oldest son. Currently my cousin Alan and our families are the only descendants of CH. James Luke had another son Herbert Smith. His family are the only other Trevenen descendants of James Luke as far as I know.
James Luke had an older brother - William Henry - who came to Eldorado near Beechworth. I am in touch with some of his descendants who now live in Queensland and NSW.
As mentioned I have an extensive "tree". I do not like to publish it as I doubt the veracity of some info. However if you are interested I would be delighted to send a copy of it and also what I have written up of the family history of the "Australian Trevenen's".
Best regards,

John Joseph Treves

From on Wednesday, 30 July, 2008
Dear Elizabeth,
I have just been sent a link to your web-site. It is wonderfull.
I noticed an entry for John Joseph Treves. This is an interesting family (not related to mine). Gabriel Treves was an Italian jewish snuff-merchant who is said to have founded the Exeter community in about 1735.
You include my ggparents George and Sophia Alexander. George was one of the children of Simon Alexander (died London 1830) and his father was Isaac Alexander. Sophia was descended from Moses Aarons of Birmingham (b. 1717). I have more detailed information if you need it.
sincerely, David Alexander
