Joseph Saunders convicted at Bucks Assizes for a term of 15 years. In the Tasmanian Indent he is a Labourer, 5 ft 10 ins tall, aged 22, dark complexion, oval head, dark brown hair and whiskers and eyebrows, blue eyes, from Bucking, Lancashire. Squints, scar on knuckle forfinger of left hand, scar on upper lip, scar under chin. Protestant, could both read and write, was single, was convicted of stealing 10 sheep, from his uncle, Isaac Saunders, native place Chesham, Bucks. (Convict 10811) Tried 6 Mar 1843. 14 Sep 1852 recommended for Ticket of Leave Ellen Kent listed in Tasmanian Convict records - Description on Page 140 of CON19-1-9, 235,140,L,80 Dark complexion, large head, brown hair, long visage, brown eyebrows, blue eyes, very slightly freckled, and in a different record CON15-1-7 image 40 and 41, Height 5 ft 2 and 3/4 in tall, aged 20, Servant, native place Co Cork, father Charles, mother Bridget, Earlier offences, stole a shift, got 3 months for stealing clothes, 14 days for cabbage. She was tried on 9 July 1850 in Co. Cork, and transported 7 years for 'Stealing shirts and former conviction', sent on the Black Friar | ||
