These two stories, could be about the same person?
See the Kerang New Times Saturday 17 January 1914
- Teamster's Serious Accident. "Mortiner Parmenter, who is employed by Mr Morrison, of Murrabit, when driving a team of horses along Boundary Street, near the Kerang butter factory, on Friday, found that his reins were entangled, and in order to adjust them walked along the shafts between the two shaft horses. ln doing this he slipped and fell, and his feet got jambed between the shafts, he was dragged head downwards along the metal road. In order to protect himself he put his hands over his head, the result was that they were terribly lacerated, his head also being cut about by contact with the metal. He was taken to the nearby private hospital, Dr Johnson's care enabled him to recover.
Bendigonian (Bendigo, Vic. Tuesday 17 February 1914
Kerang New Times (Vic. : 1914 - 1918) Tuesday 15 December 1914 - A laborer, Mr J. Parmenter, brother of Mr C. A. Parmenter, of Kerang, employed on the railway construction works near the town was found drowned on Sunday morning in the Barr Creek, close to his camp. A dish was found close by which he had apparently been using at the creek. At "a magisterial enquiry", before Mr J. M'Kenzie King, J.P., his brother stated that deceased was subject to fits, and it is suspected that he fell into the water while in a fit. The result of the inquiry was a verdict of accidentally drowned.
