Third generation - Samuel Mudge married Agnes Tothill 16 Oct 1757 at Kingsteignton, by licence. Both signed

Samuel Mudge may have died 1821, there is a will of a Samuel, of Lindridge Hill, Kingsteignton, but I haven't seen it.

Fifth generation - Parmenas Pearce Mudge wed 17 January, 1827 at St Olave, Exeter, Laura Patch, baptised 22 May 1804 at St Thomas, Exeter,Devon, daughter of Burnett and Sarah Patch. They had 7 children

Laura Mudge died in 1841 at Exeter. Her father Burnet Patch, was Mayor of Exeter in 1814. His name appears on the iron bridge spanning Cathedral Close in Exeter (see http://www.exetermemories.co.uk/EM/_bridges/burnet.php) he died in 1815 a hop and spirit merchant
Parmenas Mudge then wed at Alphington, Devon in 1844, to Caroline Edlmann Jamesetta Andresen, only daughter of late Gerard Andresen of San Domingo, West Indies. (From Gentleman's Magazine, but no date given) They had a daughter Alice, probably born in 1847.

Parmenas Mudge died in London, Dec quarter, 1873. No will found
Caroline Mudge died 1st June 1899, of The Hut, Winchmore Hill, Middlesex. Administration of estate with will granted to Alice Mudge, spinster,6 July 1899. Effects valued at £115.
In 1858 on 24 July, a bankruptcy petition was filed against Parmenas of 3 Mount Radford Terrace, parish of St Leonard, and Trelake Farm, Whitestone, Devon, Professor of Music, dealer of musical instruments and music, and farmer. To be heard 29 Sept.

Sixth generation - The sons Parmenas Mudge, Samuel Mudge and Burnet Mudge do not appear in the 1851 census, so had presumably already left for Australia.
So far, I haven't managed to get any further back than the Samuel born in the 1660s. I hope this is helpful. Elaine Zair
