Dear Elizabeth
It has come to my notice through my uncle (Clem Midolo) that some of your information found on the internet is incorrect.
I haven't gone through it with a fine tooth comb, but I will tell you that William Patrick Midolo b. 1866 #20581 did not wed Esther Harris. He wed 1883 #3308 to Rebecca Clare b. 1861 in Geelong Vic. #20845.
William Patrick Midolo b. 1866 and Rebecca Clare b. 1861 had 10 children, the third child's name was also William Patrick Midolo, but b. 1887 in Prahran, Vic. #31082. It was he who married Esther Harris b. 1877 (yes she was 10 years older than him) in Mt Jeffcott, Vic. I do not have a registration for her birth.
Now the thing is that I have found many pseudo Midolo family trees put out by ??? on Ancestry.Com who claim that Esther Harris died 20/09/1967 ... this is not true. She died 21.09.1966 #21850.
Uncle Clem also mentioned that he saw on someone else's research that William Patrick Midolo 1887 and Esther Harris 1877 did not have the correct children on that particular tree. I have also found the same and sent many emails to people hoping that these mistakes can be rectified.
Their children are as follows:
Francis William Midolo b. 24.03.1914 in Richmond #7406
Ernest John Midolo b. 24.02.1916 in Upper Hawthorn #4163
Clement Charles Midolo b. 03.01.1919 in Surrey Hills #7306
Norman Frederick Midolo b. 23.04.1920 in Balwyn #9115
Uncle Clem is very unhappy that our family tree is being, shall I say - being abused !! by people who just enter people's names willy nilly without double checking. It has taken Uncle Clem a lot of hard work getting the family tree to where it is today, and I would appreciate if we can do something about repairing the damage.

I hope I can have your support in fixing some of these anomalies, and look forward to your reply.
Regards, Wendy Lucas

Elizabeth,
We are interested in a person named Thomas Hughes. Currently, we know the following about him:
1. Arrived as a free man in Tasmania around 1845
2. He married Sarah Ankers, who was a convict who arrived on a boat named Tasmania.
3. Thomas and Sarah had a son, George Douglas Hughes, who married Mary Midolo. Mary Midolo is cited on your web site, hence our enquiry.
We would love to learn about Thomas Hughes, and his life and background prior to his arrival in Australia. We understand that this research can be intricate and difficult, and hence are happy to compensate you for it if indeed you perform this as a professional service. Could you please advise on anticipated rates of remuneration in a return email, and whether our enquiry stands a good chance of success.
Regards,
Greg and Lorna Hughes

John Midolo wed Alice Kelly in 1892

From on Sunday, 24 January, 2010
Hi Elizabeth I am trying to see if there is a connection between the Midolo's and the Kellys.
My paternal grandmother was noted on her marriage certificate as Beatrice Kelly (also known as Beatrice Midolo)
She married my grandfather, Walter Kelly. His mother was Alice Barker who married James Edward Kelly in 1880 ( her father was a William Barker from Tasmania)
I found a marriage certificate of a John Midolo (parents Joseph Midolo and Eliza Nelligan) to an Alice Kelly in 1892 whose parents were noted as William Barker and Grace Thomas from Tasmania..which seems an interesting coincidence...so if you know anything to enlighten me that would be great..
yours Eileen Kelly
