THE ARGUS (Melbourne), Tuesday 15 April 1856 - Deaths - On the 11th inst, suddenly, the beloved wife of Mr Jesse MORLEY, of the Plough and Harrow Inn, Brighton, aged 42 years, leaving four sons and three daughters to lament her loss. Mrs Morley was a native of Sussex, England.
* Jesse Morley (29), Hannah Morley (30), with James (8), Jane (6), George (3) and Jesse (1), arrived in Victoria aboard "Sea Queen" in April 1844
Hannah Morley from Susex died 1856 #1783, dau of Sarah and Thomas Courtanage.

Jesse and Hannah had 3 more children, each born at Brighton, Mary Ann 1848, Hannah 1851 - died 1852 and Harriet on 5 April 1854.
Jesse kept a Diary which is now online
Hannah died on 11 April 1856 and is buried at Brighton cemetery.
On 24 August 1858 Jesse wed Ann Noland from Co. Carlow, at Brighton, they had two children: Sarah Ann born 24 June 1859 and Ellen 22 March 1861, at Brighton

From Did you know? The Moorabbin District Roads Board was established on 16 June 1862 with responsibility for constructing and maintaining roads over an area of 36 square miles where about 4500 people lived. At the first meeting of the Board with upwards of two hundred people present, was held at Jesse Morley’s, Plough and Harrow Hotel. The nine members of the board were elected and set the Tolls for the next year.
