My hubby is a decendant of Maria (Rebecca Margaret) Wachtershauser (nee Mason) brother George Mason who was born in 1873.

Maria & George's mother Maria Mason nee Sheldon died in 1883 in Nagambie, Vic. It is said that thier father William Mason was a drunk & the kids were found on the streets shortly after their Mum died. I don't know how true this is. Maria Wachtershauser had 4 brothers & a sister Sarah who died as a baby. There may be other kids I haven't found. The brothers are: William b abt 1871, George b 1873, Hugh Gordon b ? & Joseph b 1878.
George & Hugh went to live in New Zealand. Obviously Maria Wachtershauser stayed here, the other kids I can't find! Maria Wachtershauser's father Willam Mason was born in Armagh Ireland.
Now what I need to know is:
Does any family member have Maria Wachtershausers marriage cert, 1903, Bendigo? If so can I get a copy please?
Does any family member have her birth cert, which is in the name of Rebecca Mason born in Nagambie, Vic in 1876. & her death cert 1963 in Bendigo.
If so can I get copies of those also please?
I would love a photo of Johann & Maria Wachtershauser if at all possible & would like to know if any of the family might have photo's of Maria's parents or siblings.

I also have a website Ottolangui/Langley Family History, Ottolenghi is the Italian spelling of our name. Menachem's son David, born in Livorno in 1734, arrived in London, England in 1776 and attended the Bevis Marks Synagogue. Here the spelling of Ottolenghi changed to Ottolengui, Ottolangui and other alternate spellings. Later many families anglicized the name to Langley.

Mary Ellen Mathie was born at sea, 23 December 1854. Her father was James Finlayson Mathie and her mother was Isabella Millar (3 of Isabella's sisters also came to Australia). James, Isabella And David Millar Mathie (born 1853 Scotland and listed on the shipping list as Mathews) arrived in Victoria on the SS Echo early 1855. They had property at Carngham and later at Lallat.

Echo arrived 7 April 1855, ship, 1188 tons, John W. Boyd, from Greenoak 20th Dec. Passengers-cabin : Mr and Mrs Storrie, Mr and Mrs Wilson, Mrs. Dalglish and family, Mr and Mrs Ross, Mis de Lorme, Mrs Boyd, Messrs Nicolson, W Elder, B Stephenson, Douglas, Dryden, Browne, and ninety-nine in the Intermediate and steerage. Brown, Ralston and Co, Agents,
Captain Boyd, of the ship Echo, reports having met with light winds and cairns during tho run out. Tho Echo is quite a new as well as a very fine ship, and is one of the line of O'Halloran, Brown and Co , of Scotland. Tne only casualty that occurred during the passage was to a stowaway, of the name of John McLeary, who fell overboard and waa drowned. The passengers have enjoyed very good health.

Hi Elizabeth,
I have finally confirmed that my G Grandmother, Jane Saunders, is not the daughter of William Saunders and Jane Whitesides as we thought. Therefore, the husband and children added to their daughter Jane now unknown.
My Jane Saunders was born in 1848, not 1846, and her parents are not William and Jane.
I apologise if I have mislead in any way, but the marriage of my Jane to John Johnston Matthewson is absolutely correct as their daughter, Emma Matthewson, is my grandmother.
