I have come across your website re John Lamperd. I am Robyn Lamperd Jobson and have compiled quite a history on John's line - I organised the Toolleen Lamperd Reunion in 1983 - were you there?
I was back to John Lampard d.1781 of Branshaw Wilts with the aid of a researcher a couple of years ago

In 2000 Robyn wrote to Rootsweb,
As far as I can ascertain my ggg grand father John Lamperd born 1813 Hampshire emigrated to Australia in 1855 to the gold rushes in Bendigo Victoria. His eldest daughter Mary Ann may have come with him. After he found gold, and sent back money, his wife Eliza and the rest of the children William, Edward, Samuel Thomas.......sold up the bakery in Southampton and emigrated. They then took up land at Toolleen Victoria. After years of searching I cant seem to find out which ship he came out on or from which port though I guess Portsmouth or Southampton.
The name has many variants: Lamport, Lambert, Lampert, Lampard etc etc so he could have been registered as any one of those.
