Subject: Sara Jacques arrived SA on Trusty 1838
Hello Elizabeth
I've just found your site & briefly looked at your Jaques references re the Trusty. Sara Jaques was 'great mother in law' of one of my great aunts, so not a close relationship, but I'm just adding a few names & details to that line of my family at the moment.
I've attached 3 newspaper reports which give some good family background.
1. Kapunda Herald 30 July 1889, Page 3, Golden wedding celebrations - detailed account.
2. South Australian Chronicle 19 May 1894, Page 4, Death of Mrs Sarah Teasdale, beloved wife of William, mother of 11 children, 70 grand and 5 great-grand children. A colonist for 56 years.
3. The Advertiser, Adelaide SA, 5 May 1894, Page 6, Obituary, includes details - Mr and Mrs Teasdale were married on 23 July 1839 by the late Rev Mr Howard at Trinity Church, Adelaide.
Cheers, Jane
