Subject: Ada Payter JENKYN
Hi Elizabeth, On your web page you have written
1. James Jenkyn 1850 born at St. Ives wed 1884 to Jane Park Paterson 1856 #2553 daughter of Isabella Watson and James Paterson born at Campbells
2 Children
1. Ernest Gordon Jenkyn 1885 #1501
2. James Paterson Jenkyn 1887 #9680
A contact in Australia who is doing a lookup for me on the name PAYTER has printed out and sent me an index entry from the Digger Federation Index Victoria 1889-1901 CD for what looks to be another child for the couple above:
JENKYN Ada Payter, Father: James; Mother: Jane Park PATERSON, Birth place: CHAR, Year 1893 Reg. No. 2341
I got a bit excited as my great grandmother's sister Elizabeth PAYTER wed (in 1851 at Bromfield SAL) a Thomas MATTINSON whose mother was Jane PARK, and wondered whether there was another connection I didn't know about.
From what I saw on your website the Ada Payter JENKYN above looks very unlikely to be connected to my PAYTER who were from Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Shropshire, but definitely looks to be one of "yours".
Hope this helps
