Death of the son of Bridget Marksman and John Herrick, John Herrick 1836 - 1866 #2991 aged 30, lists him as from Tipperary,

The Argus, Melbourne, Vic. Saturday 3 May 1851 May 2 -James T Foord, ship, 790 tons, J.Hume, commander, from Falmouth 6th January, with 256 immigrants. Cargo reported in yesterday's publication.
The Argus, Melbourne, Vic. Friday 2 May 1851, -from- Geelong Advertiser of yesterday.
The Diamond steamer arrived from the Heads late on Wednesday evening, and by her we learn the J. T. Foord is lying between the white buoys, on a sand bank, in 8 feet water forward and 12 feet aft, and evidently making a bed for herself in the sand. Captain Bunbury was down alongside in the Apollo, and we understand that he gave the Diamond anything but a welcome reception. The Maitland steamer visited the vessel yesterday, and found her bedded five feet in the sand, and although she still stood upright, she did not appear the least injured, and made no water.
It was evident to those on board that she could not be got off until her cargo was discharged, and two lighters have been sent down for that purpose. The Maitland returned yesterday evening, bringing the whole of the single females, and also the married couples. She will start again this morning for the Heads with new chains, anchors, and other gear, and if possible tow her off at high tide. The captain (T Hume) ran her in during the night, and although he showed lights for a pilot they were not seen at the Station. Being a stranger to the port we are surprised he should have ventured to enter such Heads as those of Port Phillip, especially when he had the lives of nearly 300 persons in his care. The James T. Foord still lies in the same position as when she went aground. Last night's high tide did not affect her. The winds prevailing are against the tides, which are low, so that flood tides cannot be expected.
Sydney Herald, Wednesday 14 May 1851, Page 2. reprints the story of The James T. Foord getting stuck on a sand bar
