I was interested in your website because of the Thorogood name and particularly Emily who married Henry James Hince as they're my grt grt grandparents.
I have to let you know that Emily is not the daughter of Joseph Thorogood but rather James and Amelia nee Nunn who arrived originally in Perth in 1853 aboard the Sabrina, James died on board before making it to Aust. Emily was born abt 1847 in Great Wilbraham, Cambridge, England. the family moved to Victoria. I have marriage certs as sources. I am related to Louisa Claringbolds eldest sister Mary Ann Claringbold.
You had on noted on your site that Louisa was an only child of Edward and Maria, but in fact she is the ninth and last child with living siblings Mary aged 20, Maria 16, Eliza 12, William 10 and Edward 4.
This information no doubt from the fact that for some reason William Claringbold was noted as Edward on Louisas' birth certificate.

I came across your website. Just a piece of information that may be of interest to you.
The John Hislop you have listed under Australia Pioneer families as quoted below, are actually 2 John Hislops.
The one marrying Jessie Jack and Givina Abbey, is not the same as the one Marrying Sarah Barlow.

John Hislop wed 1855 #690 to Sarah Barlow 1836 - 1860 #3396 aged 24, daughter of Sarah Faul and Robert Barlow from London.
The John that married to Sarah Barlow was the son of Alexander Hislop and Jane Diggles and was born 1831 in Liverpool and died 1900 in Dunedin in NZ.
He also married 3 times, but his 2nd and 3rd marriages occurred in NZ.
We had also heard the name Jessie Jack as being connected to our J Hislop, but spent some money at the Victorian Records Office and got the marriage certificate, and definately not the same one.
Our John's descendants from all three marriages are thriving well in all parts of NZ and keep in regular contact.
