John Hatherell

From on Fri, 20 May 2005

The outcome of my delving is the attached tree, which I hope you will find of interest.
We are certain on the connections downward from John (1800-1875) and Hannah. The two generations above them are a reasonable assumption based on investigation of Langley Burrell parish registers.
It was apparent from your web site, that the Church plays an important role in your life, so you may be interested that John and Hannah are 'famous' in that they appear in the diaries of the incumbent of Langley Burrell, the Reverend Francis Kilvert, during the later part of their lives.
The book to seek is Kilvert's Diary.
His original diaries were quite extensive, but only a handful survived his early death. These went to provide the original publication which was in about 1940, in three volumes (I have never seen this). What you can find nowadays is a single volume, that runs into various editions.
Thank you very much for your assistance with my project.
Cheers, Dave
