Hi Elizabeth
Thank you for your reply. It's good to find out about our family history.
My grandfather William Thomas Francis Kelly was born on the 18th May 1877 in Manoora SA to parents Timothy Kelly and Margaret Byrt. He passed away in Broken Hill in 1958 aged 81. William had 2 brothers Michael who was suppose to have died at the age of 4 in 1878 and Timothy who died in 1963 aged 87.
William married Esther Maude Godier in 1909 in Tibooburra.
They had five sons. Frank Lancelot Eaton Kelly, Roy Douglas Kelly, Eugene George Kelly, Lemnos Arthur Kelly (my Dad), and William Austin Kelly who died aged 4 months

Whilst searching the internet for Godier, I found that you had made a contribution which greatly interested me. John Godier and Elizabeth had among many others, a daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) who married Alexander Munro. Among their children was Elizabeth who married Albert Howe.
Their grave is at the Raywood cemetery. (Anglican section) The gray granite grave to the left is her parents, John and Elizabeth Godier(West) The inscription is covered in moss and contains the information that John Godier died 23/6/1896 and Elizabeth, a native of Kent died 11/12/1891.
There is speculation that John Godier shared some sort of mining related venture with Alexander Munro. It is so hard to find these things out.

Hi Elizabeth, Have you searched for Godiers at the National archives site www.naa.gov.au I found details of the oscillating and rotary gold dry blower invented by Thomas Eaton Godier and his brother John Francis Godier in 1895 at Tibooburra, NSW. It was for the purpose of separating gold from rock, quartz, sand, clay and soil and saving such gold. Regards Beverley
