JESSIE FLETCHER was born 1795 in Killfinnan, Argyleshire, Scotland, and died 1866 in Victoria. She married 23 Oct 1819 to ROBERT GALL in Cardross, Dumbarton, Scotland, son of ROBERT GALL and MARGARET MAILER.
ROBERT GALL was born 1755 in Alloa, Clackmannon, Scotland. He married 27 Nov 1790 in Scotland, to MARGARET MAILER daughter of JOHN MAILER and ISABEL TAYLOR born 1759.
Robert Gall was born 1798 in Dollar, Clackmannon, Scotland, Christening: 02 Dec 1798, Alloa, Clackmannon, Scotland and died 1868 #10036 in Williamstown. He married 23 Oct 1819 in Cardross, Dumbarton, Scotland, to JESSIE FLETCHER daughter of PETER FLETCHER and MARGARET CAMPBELL. She was born 1795 in Killfinnan, Argyleshire, Scotland, Christening: 20 Sep 1795, Killfinnan, Argyleshire, Scotland and later called Margaret Campbell Fletcher and died 1866 #6954 in Victoria.

I am actually researching the Gall family. My husband's great grandmother was Margaret Gall, sister to Jane Gall.
Margaret married James Govan in Dumbarton in 1840. The Govan family came to Aus in 1855 on the Brilliant
I am at present collating a book on the Gall Govan families so was pleased to find info on Henry and Jane Walkerden. I am trying to incorporate photos where possible.

1. Margaret Gall Christening: 2 Jul 1820 - 24 Mar 1858 aged 34, wed 24th July 1840 to James Govan 1825 at Dumbarton, Scotland
Arrived in Melbourne, Victoria on the Brilliant on 3 Oct 1855 with husband and their 4 children and lived at Williamstown. Buried at the Williamstown Cemetery.
James Govan wed 1863 #2975 to Caroline Watts appears then as Fruin, widow of George Watts died 1862 #7827 aged 40 - they appear to have come about 1861 and daughter Ann died at Sunbury 1862 #3828 aged 20 months.

Hello there - I came across your web page by chance and found the names of 3 people within my own family tree. I was wondering whether the Caroline Watts nee Fruin that you mention came from England Cheltenham area. My Great Great grandfather was William Fruin and he married a Phebe Ragg. Their daughter Caroline I have as being born 1832.
Are we talking about the same people here.

Carol Govan died at Footscray c1833 - 1901 #9681 aged 66, dau of Phoebe Ragg and William Fruin, and is sister to Mary Rebecca who wed Robert James Walkerden and also may be connected to Phoebe Fruin wed 1856 to William Squire Tong
2. Robert Gall Christening: 7 Apr 1822 - 15 Oct 1897 died at Phillip Island, Victoria, wed 17 Apr 1856 to Sarah Petter at St Andrews Church, Brighton, Victoria.
In 1866 Robert was a contractor in Brighton and in 1869 he put his family and all their goods, chattels, fowls and nanny goat on the ship Stephen and took them to Phillip Island to his new farm. It took four days to get there. He held 20 acres at Cowes.
