Eaglesim Family History I have just found your website a little confused but was wondering how I can contact the person that but the Information about the Thomas Brown Eaglesim Family. I am researching my husbands family and Thomas' older sister Elizabeth Eaglesim is his Great Great Grandmother can you help me.
One thing I have discovered is that the "Fulton" in May Fulton Eaglesim's name was probably from William Eaglesim's grandmother Marion Fulton (see IGI). And the "Brown" in Thomas Eaglesim's name was the maiden name of his mother, Elizabeth Moor Brown.
Checking my notes
Got Thomas Brown Eggleson born 1855 #11573 son of Ruth Moore Brown and William at EHAWK, only child born in Vic
Assisted Shipping search using Ruth and e* wild card got 1852 and the Wanata then using the ship name for the family got William Eaglesham 34 came Oct 1852 on the Wanata with Ruth Eaglesham 32 and Elizabeth Eaglesham aged 11.
Unassisted immigration, get the same information
Freebmd births, marriages deaths, can not find marriage of Ruth Brown to William E* in England or Wales
FamilySearch Try for birth of Ruth Brown 1820 +/- 2
That gives
Ruth More Brown - Female Christening: 12 Dec 1819 Abbey (Paisley), Renfrew, Scotland, Parents: Elisabeth Rowan and John Broun, an Extracted birth or christening record
Now to look for marriage about 1842 in Paisley
Ruth Brown Marriage: 14 Mar 1840 at Abbey (Paisley), Renfrew, Scotland to Spouse: William Eaglesim
But can not find William Christened c1818 in Scotland
From on Thu, 9 Aug 2007,
Charles Craig died in 1903 #1437 aged 70. I have a copy of that entry in which it stated that he has been in Vic for 45 years. Charles Craig was a lot younger than Ruth (see Marriage Registrations) and when he died he was 70 yrs, thus born about 1832/33. If he is the Craig aged 32 yrs who arrived on the "Omeo" in Jan 1864 the birth date of 1832 would fit. That would then mean 39 years in Vic. He was the son of John Napier Craig and Jane Ramsay (see marriage registrations) and in 1869 their (ie Charles and Ruth) ages were 36 and 49 and then in 1872 their ages were 39 and 52.
