Jacobus Andrianus De Graaff, born 1830 at Brielle, Holland, the son of Peter Helenus De Graaf 1803 - 1878, and Annetta Van Leeuwin, came to Victoria and died at Carngham 1900 aged 70.
The Twite family arrived in Victoria in 1853 aboard the Mooltan. We believe Jacobus was a crew member on the ship.
Jacobus married on 20 September 1853 at Christ Church, Geelong, Victoria to Eliza Twite, born 1837 at Pinchback, Lincs, England, daughter of James Twite 1815 -1869 and Mary Ann Parker 1821 - 1897. Eliza was baptised 1838 at Grimston, Norfolk, England. James is buried at Streiglitz and Mary Ann, who was born at Rutland, married a second time, and is buried at Carngham near her daughters.
All of the 13 children became adults, one son did not marry, one daughter and one son died the year after the birth of their first child. There are 62 known grandchildren.
A truly wonderful pioneering family.
