Hi Elizabeth First of all, good page. I'm not sure if you're still using this email address so I'll keep this brief and if you want further details you can contact me or look at my tree on Ancestry.com.au.
I have 11 children for Alexander George Bailey and Mary Ann Mitchell. Some were born in South Australia and the others in Victoria. In order of their birth I have:
Mary Ann Elizabeth, Sarah Eliza, Alfred James, William Charles, George Alexander, Emma Michell, Mary Ann Victoria, Alexander George, Emma Mitchell, Grace Elizabeth Mitchell, and Rosa Jane Elizabeth.
You missed a marriage of Alexander George Bailey (1861-1925). Here are some of the details:
On 26 April 1886 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, West Melbourne, Alexander George Bailey, a 25 year old bricklayer from Flemington, married Catherine Agnes Ryan, a 24 year old Domestic from Hotham that was known as Kate. In 1887 their first child was born, Rose Mary Bailey. Their second, Catherine Edith Bailey was born in 1888, and died 29 November 1888, at 6 months of age. The third daughter, Annie Agatha Bailey, was born prematurely in 1889 and died 4 weeks later on 27 November 1889. Catherine Agnes (Ryan) Bailey died on the 2 November 1889. Catherine Agnes, Catherine Edith and Annie Agatha were all buried in the Melbourne General Cemetery.
Alexander George Bailey married Alice Gilbertson the following year.
Rose Mary Bailey married David McLean on 20 November 1919. They had 3 sons, Huey James, David John and Shirley Joan. On 21 May 1931 her husband, David McLean, fell from a building in Collingwood where he was working and died of his injuries on 29 May 1931. An inquest was held on 20 and 24 July 1931. The coroner found he had died of injuries from a fall but was unable to add the word accidental to his finding as he believed there had been a conspiracy of silence and did not believe that no one knew who tied the rope. An open verdict was returned.
Rose Mary died 7 December 1960 in Ararat, Victoria and was buried 2 days later at the Brighton Cemetery with David. If you would like more information please don't hesitate to ask. Regards CC
