William Brisbane

I have a William Brisbane who married a Mary Ann Kilpatrick. The marriage took place in Maybole Ayrshire in 1855. The only thing is....my William's parents are John Brisbane and Jane Fisher. ( I have a copy of the marriage entry ) William and Mary Ann...with their daughters Jane and Sarah, went to Australia on the ship Commodore Perry in August 1859.


So I discovered the 'Commodore Perry' came Aug 1859 with Assisted British Immigrants to Victoria, including William Brisbane 23, Mary 21, Jane 3 and Sarah 1.

THIS is to certify that we, the undersigned, steerage passengers per ship Statesman, arrived here in EIGHTY-FOUR days from Plymouth, in perfect health and good order, and feel great pleasure in expressing our thanks to Mr T. W. Lane, the commander, for his kindness to all on board, and hope he may at all times meet with that success, which, as a gentleman and an officer, he so much deserves ; at the same time we can not omit recording our unqualified approbation of the conduct of Mr W.R. Hart, the Medical Superintendent, who, by his unwearied attention to the wants of his numerous charge, obtained their good-will and respect ; and also consider it our duty to bear testimony to the desire manifested by every officer to promote the well being of all the passengers.
