Hi Elizabeth, I have been researching my G G G Grandmother & came across your FANTASTIC web page.
I can help you with a surname you are missing :)
My G G G Grandmother was Mary Ann CONDRON married to Robert WHITE. One of their daughters was Isabella WHITE - married to Julius Augustus ARNDT. My GGG grandmother was her sister.
Mary Ann was born in (Ireland) 1824 and died in Fitzroy 1887. Her parents were Thomas CONDRON ( 1804 - 1873) and Eliza McGOVERN. ( 1802 - 1881).
On Mary Ann's death Certificate it listed her father Thomas as a publican.
I checked the Tetlow Index online for the State Library of Victoria & he was indeed the publican of 4 hotels - 1857 - 1895.
If you use ancestry.com.au you will find many many families with dates & siblings. If not I am happy to send them if you are interested. I hope this has helped you as much as your site has helped me!
kind regards, Pam Colvin
I began by checking Victorian BMD records to see if Robert White and Mary Ann Condron are there - and found a marriage, Mary Ann Condron wed Robert White in 1846 at Church of England St James, Melbourne
That led me to Assisted Immigration, where I have a Web page which includes
Mary Ann Condron 19 single woman House servant Prot both Cavan to John Cadden, clerk, Post office, arrived 16 Feb 1844 on the Wallace
Both Sydney and Melbourne officials made Passenger Lists of Bounty arrivals, NSW now has their list for the Wallace online - Page 9 has what looks like sisters Mary Ann Condron aged 19, Catherine 17 and Martha 15, all from Croan in Ireland - the record kept by the Melbourne officials has Co Cavan
