My name is Robert (Bob) Abrey. I live in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. I have recently begun researching my family history and was very pleased to discover your web page on Thomas Hill Abrey. Just last week I was able to trace my family back to William Abory(Abrey) 1629. Our family line is the same until the sons of Samuel Thomas Abrey (b 1698). My ancestor is Daniel (b 1734); Thomas Hill Abrey's ancestor is the older brother, William (b 1731)
As I get deeper into recearching genealogy, the old line about "small world, isn't it!" rings ever truer.

Generation 5 - . WILLIAM ABREY was born 1756. He married ELIZABETH PETERS 1779. She was born 1757. Four children John, Charles, Elizabeth, Jane were born at Fyfield, Essex, England.

Generation 6 - JOHN ABREY was born 1791 in Fyfield, Essex, England, and died 1846 in Chingford, Essex, England. He married SARAH FRANCES. Six children were born, Robert, Elizabeth, Frances, Louisa, Frances, John.

Generation 7 - ROBERT ABREY was born 1809 in England, and died 1840. He married ANNA BAKER. She was born in ? Middlesex. One child, Thomas, was born, and Robert was buried in Chingford with the monumental inscription reading age 31.

Charles Abrey 1835 - 1914 aged 79, died at Waterloo, son of Richard Beaver Abrey and Jane Miller. This is an obvious error, because Richard Beaver and Jane Miller are the parents of Charlotte Beaver who wed Thomas Hill Abrey.

A question if I may, have you found any reason that Charlotte BEAVER went to Australia ?? It would seem a very brave thing to do in those days being an unmarried woman of 20 years. For Charlotte's parents Richard died 1849 at Wokingham and Jane died 1878 Wokingham.

This checks with an extracted record of Charlotte Beaver Christening: 10 Sep 1837 Holy Trinity, Guildford, Surrey, England. On the same day Dennington Beaver was also Christened.
Older brother Richard Beaver Christening: 02 Jun 1833 at Holy Trinity, Guildford, Surrey, England.
A wedding to March 1857 for Dennington is not to Charlotte unless she changed her name from Caroline Coleburn or Emily Mary Cox. And Emily Beaver died - in UK, Deaths Jun 1857 Beaver Emily Camberwell 1d 247
March 1858 he wed Charlotte Campbell and in the 1881 Census he is an Innkeeper, dwelling at Wood Side, Caddington, Bedford, England
